HSUS
Animal Welfare
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has partnered with FYI - FILM YOUR ISSUE on the important area of animal protection issues. The HSUS is the nation’s largest animal protection organization. Although The HSUS works to protect all animals, and covers a vast array of issues affecting animals, for the FYI competition we are focusing on a few major campaigns and programs which affect great numbers of animals in the most significant ways:
- Factory Farming
- Animal Cruelty
- Animal Fighting
- Hunting
- Fur
- Canadian Seal Hunt
- Puppy Mills
- Pets for Life
All of these issues have something in common—each can be influenced by the actions of individuals. And each individual's actions can be influenced by filmmakers like you.
The HSUS and ACE (Animal Content in Entertainment), a program of The HSUS’ Hollywood Office, invite you to use your talent to create an FYI issue that will change the lives of animals.
We will also be evaluating all the entries on the above suggested topics for consideration for a special FYI – HSUS Award to be presented at the FYI 2007 Awards ceremony in New York City in June 2007. A film, if selected for the Award, would be posted on The Humane Society of the United States website for viewing.
