FYI 2007 Competition

Any Issue

Submission to the 2007 FYI - FILM YOUR ISSUE Competition has closed and the winners have been announced. View the 2007 FYI Winners.

Show us your issue – any issue. Make it personal, real. What matters to YOU. Not a boring (if well-intentioned) Public Service Announcement that tells us politely to vote or stop smoking or eat healthy.

Make it real, dynamic, personal, from YOUR perspective. Make it strong, noisy, stone-silent, interesting, personal, rude, if necessary, funny, tragic, intimate, first person. Speak in your own voice.

Your issue, your cause, your personal indignation, can be down the street or across the globe.

Look at last year's winners. You'll see they were personal, not afraid to go to the edge, if necessary. Take chances. Creative chances. Idea chances.

The more personal and first-person it is, the more it has an original and unique point of view that is unmistakably and autobiographically you, and from the fire of your personal truth – the better your chances of being a finalist.

We offer links below, on issues and organizations, to tweak your thoughts. Share your favorite organization or pet cause. Add to the list.

We also encourage you to go to the links for The Humane Society of the United States, The United Nations and The Natural Resources Defense Council.
