
The Voting
A tally of votes by the public via MSN Video and VIP Jury will yield five top-voted entries, one for each of the five categories.
Caveat
Submissions created by multiple filmmakers will require the filmmakers to select amongst themselves who will receive which prize offered. FYI – Film Your Issue assumes no responsibility on behalf of the potential recipients.
The Walt Disney Company Internship
One winning entry will be selected by an executive of The Walt Disney Company for a paid studio internship of eight weeks, in Burbank, California. Only one filmmaker from the film will be eligible for the internship. The filmmaker will be responsible for his/her own accommodations and transportation to and within Los Angeles.
Trip to awards ceremony in New York City at U.N. Headquarters
Five filmmakers — one from each of the top five finalists — will be flown to NYC along with their faculty advisor (where applicable) for the awards ceremony on June 19, 2006 at the United Nations Headquarters. Both airfare and accommodations will be provided for the filmmaker, and the supervising faculty member, where applicable. For the winning five films, a maximum of three additional students who co-created the film will be invited to attend the ceremony, but must provide their own accommodations and airfare.
Trip to Park City, Utah during the festival season 2007, sponsored by MSN Spaces
Five winning filmmakers — one for each of the top-voted films — will also be flown to Park City, Utah for the festival season 2007, where they and their entries will be presented by MSN Spaces at a private reception. MSN Spaces will provide airfare and accommodations for the five filmmakers. For the five winning films, a maximum of three additional students who co-created the film will be invited to attend the MSN Spaces presentation, but provide their own accommodations and airfare.
Broadcast
The five top-voted entries will be broadcasted on mtvU, MSN Video, and MSNBC.com
Film Festivals
The five top-voted entries will be showcased at the Maui Film Festival 2006.
Motorola RAZR V3 mobile phone and Toshiba laptop
Five filmmakers – one for each of the five top-voted films – will receive a Motorola RAZR V3 mobile phone and a Toshiba laptop.
